DieTechExpo
The DieTechExpo brings together the different stages of the industrial value chain surrounding die-cutting technology and its applications. A particular focus lies on the printing, packaging and folding carton industries, where cutting dies play a central role.
At the heart of the exhibition are companies involved in the development and manufacture of cutting dies, as well as the industries that use these tools in their daily production processes.
The exhibition therefore creates a place where suppliers, die-makers and users come together.
This includes providers of materials and components for die-making, as well as machines used for laser processing, rule processing and bending. At the same time, die-makers meet companies that rely on these tools in their production processes – particularly in the printing, packaging and folding carton industries, but also in other areas of industrial die-cutting.
In this way, an environment is created in which technology, experience and practical application come together. Developments in die-making become visible in the context of their later use, while users gain insight into the creation and further development of the tools they depend on.
A special element of the DieTechExpo is a series of practice-oriented workshops, where users from production gain a deeper understanding of cutting dies and their function. These workshops also address typical situations in everyday production – for example how minor adjustments or simple repairs to dies can be properly assessed and carried out.
Attention is also given to adjacent areas of industrial production – including equipment, technical systems and solutions that play a role along the entire production chain.
The DieTechExpo therefore sees itself as a meeting place for an industrial community, where material suppliers, component providers, machine builders, die-makers and a wide range of user industries connected to die-cutting technology come together.
History
The roots of the DieTechExpo lie in the organized cooperation within the die-making industry. It began with the founding of the Fachverband Deutscher Stanzformenhersteller (FDS), followed later by the Europäische Stanzform Union (ESU) at the European level. In this early phase, the association primarily served as a platform for die-makers to exchange technical knowledge and discuss developments within the industry.
Over time, it became increasingly clear how central the supplier industry is to die-making. Materials, components and machinery form the technical foundation of cutting dies and are closely connected to their development. As a result, the association gradually opened itself to these partners of the industry, allowing supplier companies to become members and participate in the professional exchange.
In this context, a first small presentation of suppliers was organized. It took place in a hotel – with one table for each supplier, where materials, components and technical solutions were presented.
From these beginnings the Technology Forum later developed. As participation increased, the hotel facilities soon became too small and the event moved to exhibition halls. For many years the Technology Forum, especially in Luxembourg, became an important meeting point for the industry.
From this established format the DieTechExpo eventually emerged – an independent exhibition that brings together the different value-creation stages of the printing, packaging, folding carton and die-cutting industries. It connects materials, components, machine building and die-making with the industrial production processes of the industry and their wider technical environment.
